| TEACHER TIPS | 1. Number one: Do Not Get Discouraged. 2. Find quality speakers/presenters who will be most compatible with your audience. 3. Volunteers are out there and willing to help you. All Parent University classes are taught by volunteers, so there is no need to spend budget money for someone to come in. 4. Monthly flyers with a schedule of adult events are a very effective way of letting parents know what is going on ahead of time. 5. When hosting a large event, such as "Bingo for Books," a neat way to get the information out is by sending out printed stickers on the day of the event. These stickers are printed on large labels and have all event information on them; Event name, location, time, etc. At the end of the day, teachers place stickers on the students, so that the first thing Mom and Dad see is "Please take me to play Bingo for Books tonight!" We have found that parents respond well to this method. |
| ADAPTATIONS | 1. Pair up students for peer tutoring. |
