Texas 21st CCLC 2005-2006 Program Review

May brings the close of school and the end of the 2005-2006 school year.  As the Texas 21st CCLC programs close the school year and prepare to begin the summer sessions, make time to reflect with participants and staff on the strengths of the past year, summer 2005 through spring 2006.  Compare June 2005 status to May 2006 status for students, staff, schools, collaborators and community.  What really worked and what would you change for another year?

As requested by me in an email, May 1, 2006, and distributed by Kristen Stohl to each grantee staff with TEASE accounts, use the Texas 21st CCLC Tracking system, read and review the reports outlined.  Work with your group to brainstorm the past federal reporting year with an objective eye.

Measurable impact upon our participants is possible through quality programs delivered by informed, enthusiastic instructors and staff.  Your efforts are supported by multiple supporters from campuses, districts, and community.

Like the perfectly decorated cake, the complete enjoyment of the finished product is only realized to its fullest extent when eaten by guests invited to the party.  Likewise the 21st CCLC program being implemented must have participants who are consistently, daily, represented in the center programs.  Many, many students are attendees within the programs, but in many centers, consistency is below expectations.

As you close this year and begin a new federal reporting year in the summer of 2006, continue what is working and prioritize issues and components that can be improved.  Your work and the impact upon your students are appreciated.  The participants have had opportunities that can shape their lives not only now but in the future.   Thanks!
