Our afterschool program staff always wants time to network and share ideas with colleagues statewide, not an easy thing to accomplish in a state that takes two days to drive across!

Excitement is building for the first Texas 21st CCLC Afterschool Conference coming in Austin July 27-28, 2006.  Our program includes Judy Caplan, national speaker on intentional learning and homework, Carol McElvain and Neil Naftzger from Learning Point, and humorous inspiration from Riney Jordan. Talented Texas afterschool practitioners will share programmatic, administrative and sustainability experiences and strategies that help achieve quality, academic support and fun learning experiences for students. I am sure you will find knowledge, inspiration, lots of opportunities for networking with your colleagues, and some fun too!
You’ll find the conference information at www.texas21afterschool.org/conference.html

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Geraldine Kidwell
