It will include workshops by national and state presenters on effective strategies for growing, improving, and sustaining service-learning practice in K-12 schools and a special track sponsored by State Farm on service-learning and disaster preparedness.
By attending this summer institute, you will:
LEARN through engaging workshops by national and state presenters, including Cathy Berger Kaye, Jim Toole, Tracy Harkins, Joan Liptrot, Julene Reed, and Barry Guillot;
CONNECT with colleagues and expert service-learning practitioners;
SERVE others through participation in an on-site service project;
EXPAND your horizons through sessions on Systems Thinking, Brain-Based Learning, Character Education, and many other topics; and
ENJOY a screening of the film One Peace at a Time followed by a lively discussion with staff of the Nobelity Project (www.nobelity.com).
